JUNIOR GIRL SCOUT: Art in 3-D

Note: Lion Country Safari's badge workshop will help your Scout group
prepare for earning a badge. The following list will help you to understand
what Lion Country Safari covers, and what the Scout and/or group will need
to do to complete the badge requirements. All badge workshops must be
arranged in advance.


At Lion Country Safari
(during your badge workshop)
Scouts need to do on their own
(or as a Den activity)
1. In the fold
- Make an origami crane.
2. Mold it
- Mold clay or other modeling material.
4. Negatives are positives
- Create an abstract sculpture. Include negative as well
as positive space in your design.
7. Art that's me
- Create a piece of art in 3-D that represents your heritage.
9. It's mobile
- Learn about mobiles and stabiles; create one

3. Past masters
-Look at art online or in a museum.
-After reviewing the work of 3 artists or sculptures, make an
art object in the style of one you admire.
5. Carve it
- Make a woodcarving.
6. All around the town
- Find at least 5 examples of 3-dimensional art in your
community.
8. Art as therapy
- Visit a site where people with special needs or different
abilities create art.
10. Wire it
- Create a 3-D design with wire and other materials.
