JUNIOR GIRL SCOUT: Careers

Note: Lion Country Safari's badge workshop will help your Scout group
prepare for earning a badge. The following list will help you to understand
what Lion Country Safari covers, and what the Scout and/or group will need
to do to complete the badge requirements. All badge workshops must be
arranged in advance.

6 are required to earn the badge
At Lion Country Safari
(during your badge workshop)		 Scouts need to do on their own

1. Check out the classifieds
- See examples of classified ads. Discuss the abbreviations,
education, salaries.
2. Work is funny
- Examine some newspaper comic strips that are about
working.
3. Hobbies can be golden
- Education staff members tell you which
hobbies they had as children& how they
relate to their current jobs.
4. A career for you
- Learn about various careers at Zoos.
8. Role models
- We give you 3 interviews of successful
women at Lion Country Safari.
10. Computers on the job
- Education staff members will tell your group at least 5
ways that computers are used at LCS.

4. A career for you
- Find out about other careers if zoos do not appeal.
5. Thinking on your feet
- Do the activity to test if you can think quickly.
6. Time's a 'wasting
- Learn about time management skills.
7. Interviewing 101
- With a partner, practice going on a job interview.
9. Getting along in groups
- Learn about conflict resolution.
