JUNIOR GIRL SCOUT: Eco-Action

Note: Lion Country Safari's badge workshop will help your Scout group
prepare for earning a badge. The following list will help you to understand
what Lion Country Safari covers, and what the Scout and/or group will need
to do to complete the badge requirements. All badge workshops must be
arranged in advance.

(during your badge workshop)
Scouts need to do on their own
(or as a Den activity)
1. Green team
- Learn about ways each Scout can help to save the
environment.
2. Plant a tree
- Take part in a tree-planting activity.
3. Every drop counts
- Learn what you can do to conserve water.
6. Trashy art
- Make a work of art from stuff you would normally
throw away.
8. Clean and healthy
- Do an earth-friendly service project to benefit our
primates or parrots.
10. Women's Work
- Learn about a woman who is a champion for the
environment.

1. Green team
-Create an eco-action pledge and do 2 earth-friendly things
for 2 weeks.
3. Every drop counts
- Do something to conserve water.
4. What's Watt
- Find the wattage on each electrical appliance you use,
multiply it by the # hours used each day. Do this for 3 days.
5. Start the presses!
- With a group of friends, publish a newspaper to give out
environmental info in your neighborhood.
7. Paper rules!
- Decorate at least 10 grocery bags to encourage people to
use less plastic. Donate them to be used at a grocery store.
9. You "auto" know
- Note: FL does not currently require vehicle emissions
testing, so this one does not apply.
