JUNIOR GIRL SCOUT: Outdoor Fun

Note: Lion Country Safari's badge workshop will help your Scout group
prepare for earning a badge. The following list will help you to understand
what Lion Country Safari covers, and what the Scout and/or group will need
to do to complete the badge requirements. All badge workshops must be
arranged in advance.

6 are required to earn the badge
At Lion Country Safari
(during your badge workshop)		 Scouts need to do on their own
(or as a Den activity)
1. Get going
- Lion Country Safari serves as the destination for one of the
2 outings required.
2. Outdoor emergencies
- Role-play what to do in 3 different emergency situations
that could occur in the outdoors.
Write a haiku
6. Protect the environment
- Learn how to dispose of waste water and garbage without
damaging the environment.
8. Tied up in knots
- Learn how to tie a square knot and another knot, and
how they are useful.

1. Get going
- Plan and carry out another outing; must be a half-day or
longer.
3. Eating out
- With others, plan, buy, pack, carry, prepare, and serve a
meal or snack for 2 outings.
4. Build a fire
- Show that you can build a fire, prepare food on it, put it out,
and leave it "without a trace" of use.
5. Celebrate nature
- Help plan, assemble, and pack a first aid kit.
7. Sing around the campfire
- Plan songs, games, and activities for each of your outings.
9. Clean up
- Help unpack, clean, and store your group's equipment after
each outing.
10. Diversity in Nature
- Make plans for the next trip outdoors.
