JUNIOR GIRL SCOUT: Write All About It

Note: Lion Country Safari's badge workshop will help your Scout group
prepare for earning a badge. The following list will help you to understand
what Lion Country Safari covers, and what the Scout and/or group will need
to do to complete the badge requirements. All badge workshops must be
arranged in advance.

Scouts need to do on their own
(or as a Den activity)
2. Story starters
- Create 3 different story lines with group. Pick one story line
& write on it for 15 mins.
3. Memoirs are memories
- Think about an event that meant a great deal to you. Share
with group.
4. How to How-To
- Pick something you are good at and then write instructions
on how to do it.
6. Group writing for laughs
- Play the game of creating a story one sentence at a time.
Each person sees ONLY the sentence immediately
preceding theirs. At end, read entire story as a group.
9. A pocket full of poems
- Learn about different types of poems, from haiku to
limericks and sonnets. Write some.
10. Good news
- Learn the 5 Ws: Who, what, when, where, & why.
Write a news story about your LCS visit.

1. Write from the start
- For one week, write at least 5 minutes per day.
3. Memoirs are memories
- Write about this memory.
5. True fiction
- Write your own fiction story.
7. Play it out!
- Examine playwriting techniques and then write your own play.
8. Author! Author!
- Talk to writers about their work.
