WEBELOS SCOUT: Naturalist Activity Badge

Note: Lion Country Safari's badge workshop will help your Scout group
prepare for earning a badge. The following list will help you to understand
what Lion Country Safari covers, and what the Scout and/or group will need
to do to complete the badge requirements. All badge workshops must be
arranged in advance.


Number 1 and 5 others are required to earn the badge
At Lion Country Safari
(during your badge workshop)
Scouts need to do on their own
(or as a Den activity)
4. Visit a zoo. Tell what you saw.
5. Record birds you see at Lion Country Safari.
7. Identify poisonous plants and animals in your area.
8. Watch 6 wild animals in the wild. Describe the kind
of place you saw them and what they were doing.
9. Give examples of:
----Producers, Consumers, Decomposers
----One way humans have changed the balance of nature
----How you can help protect the balance of nature
10. Identify a plant, bird, or wild animal found only in our
area. Tell whyu it survives only in this area.

1. With parent, guardian, or den leader, complete the
Respect Character Connection.
2. Keep an insect zoo. Study them and then release them.
3. Set up an aquarium or terrarium. Keep it for at least a
month.
5. Keep a list of the birds you see for the rest of the week.
