On our drive through the preserve, we were able to observe these fascinating birds up close. Although they cannot fly, ostriches can run up to 40 m.p.h., and some of them seem to enjoy peeking in the windows of our vehicles. |

At the Animal Theatre, Joe or Aaron taught us all about Clymer, the Solomon Island prehensile-tailed skink. We watched her climb up her rope on stage, and some of us had our pictures taken with her! |

One of the bird keepers told us all about their job, and the type of education required for it. We then helped to make bird diets or bird enrichments, and then we went along with the keeper while she fed the parrots. We also observed the lories being released in the morning. |

We learned about the biodiversity of the world's rainforests, and we were able to meet a couple of these animals at a presentation in the Animal Theatre, where some of us had our photo taken with the sun conure. We also learned that there are some things that we can do to help preserve this important habitat. And, we went on a Rainforest Scavenger Hunt through Safari World. |
