Kathy
Group 1 - Kathy
A teacher at St. David's Episcopal School during the year, this is Kathy's first year with Safari Day Camp, but she's had 25 years' camp experience. In her spare time, Kathy enjoys fishing and camping. Her favorite animal at Lion Country Safari are the giraffe. Her most memorable moment at Lion Country is "driving through the preserve with my 3-year-old class (on a field trip) when they actually realize the animals are real, and how big the lions are."

Andrea
Group 2 - Andrea
Currently a student at the University of Florida, this is Andrea's 1st year with Safari Day Camp. In her spare time, Andrea enjoys the beach, traveling, and reading. Andrea's
favorite animals at Lion Country Safari are the Lions. Her most memorable moment at Lion Country Safari is when Joe thought there was Scoliosis testing going on in the trailer.

Kacey
Group 3 - Kacey
Currently a student at the University of Central Florida, this is Kacey's 2nd year with Safari Day Camp. In her spare time, Kacey enjoys tennis and doing portraits of people.
Kacey's favorite animals at Lion Country Safari are the pigs and the chimps. Her most memorable moment at Lion Country
Safari is visiting the lion house.

Rachel
Group 4 - Rachel W
Currently a student at North Carolina State University, this is Rachel's 1st year with Safari Day Camp. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys sewing, hiking, horse back riding, studying, and identifying trees and plants. Rachel's favorite animals at Lion Country Safari are the elephants. Her most memorable moment at Lion Country Safari is when she was 12 years old and her Aunt and Uncle brought her and 3 cousins to LCS.

Hollie
Group 5 - Hollie
Currently a student at Palm Beach Community College, this is Hollie's second year with Safari Day Camp. In her spare time, Hollie enjoys playing softball. Hollie's favorite animals at Lion Country Safari are the Lions. Her most memorable moment at
Lion Country Safari is being a foot away from the lions when she was in the lion house.

Crystal
Group 6 - Chris
Currently a student at Palm Beach Community College, Chris has worked for Lion Country Safari for 5 years. This is Chris's second year with Safari Day Camp as a Counselor. In his spare time, Chris enjoys movies, computers, and playing guitar. Chris's favorite animals at Lion Country Safari are the lory birds. His most
memorable moment at Lion Country Safari is when he had to wash the trays all day long in the Food and Beverage area.

Rachel
Group 7 - Rachel J
Currently a student at the University of Montana, this is Rachel's 1st year with Safari Day Camp. In her spare time,
Rachel enjoys reading, horse back riding, swimming, and rock climbing. Rachel's favorite animals at Lion Country Safari are the chimpanzees. Her most memorable moment at Lion Country Safari is talking to Wildlife Director Terry Wolf about primates..

Ryan
Group 8 - Ryan
Currently a student at the University of North Florida, this is Ryan's 1st year with Safari Day Camp, but he has worked at LCS
for several years in the restaurant. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys playing guitar, sleeping, and eating. Ryan's favorite animal at Lion Country Safari is the zebra. His most memorable moment at Lion Country Safari is when he had to work at the Carvel hut when the cones were $0.70 and it was super busy.

Laura
Extra Counselor - Laura
Currently a student at the University of Florida, this is Laura's 1st year with Safari Day Camp. In her spare time, Laura enjoys going to the gym, skating, and playing piano. Laura's favorite animal at Lion Country Safari is either Ci-Ci or Ripley. She says that all the people she gets to work with make this a memorable experience, but one of her favorite parts of the day is watching Eddie hop.

Tracey
Lifeguard - Tracey
Currently a student at Wellington High School, this is Tracey's 1st year with Safari Day Camp. In her spare time Tracey enjoys scuba diving, acting, swimming, writing, and
horse back riding. Tracey's favorite animals at Lion Country Safari are the Lions. Her most memorable moment at Lion Country Safari is when she went up to the lion house and got to see the lions up close.

Rhonda
Education Director - Rhonda
At Lion Country Safari since 1998, Rhonda was an instructor at PBCC for 11 years, at a private school for 6 years, and at Penn State for a year prior to joining the LCS Education team. She earned her B.A. in English at USF and studied Comparative literature in graduate school at Penn State.She has had a lifelong love of animals and says that Lion Country Safari is "a wonderful place for everyone to learn to appreciate wildlife and wild places." She says the best part about working here is "every day is a new adventure." Her most memorable moments have been "meeting several of my former students visiting Lion Country with their spouses and children. Some have even been summer campers!"

Linda
Crafts Coordinator - Linda
A full-time Education staff member, Linda leads all of the groups in crafts each day. Linda graduated from Houghton College and also attended SUNY-Cobbleskill. She also
completed the Docent Training Program at Palm Beach Zoo at Dreher Park, where she was a docent for several years. Prior to joining Lion Country Safari's Education Department in 2000, Linda was a preschool teacher and a crossing guard. Her favorite LCS animals are the giraffes, and her most memorable moment was "feeding thegiraffe with the summer camp kids."

Maritza
Groups Coordinator - Maritza
In her first year with Lion Country Safari's Education Department, Maritza received her B.A. degree in Communications at the University of Central Florida. She is also a certified lifeguard. She says the best part
of working at Lion Country Safari is "the interaction with people and animals." Maritza's favorite animal here is Gonzo the sloth. Her most memorable moment was "Feeding the giraffe for a television program."

Sean
Education - Sean
In his first year with Lion Country Safari's Education Department, Sean received his A.S. from Santa Fe Community College Teaching Zoo, and his B.S. at the State University of New York - Oswego. Sean worked as an animal keeper at the Palm Beach Zoo before joining the education staff at Lion Country Safari. Sean says that his most memorable moment was
"when the Marabou Stork escaped and keepers had to catch and secure it."

Aaron
Education - Aaron
In his fourth year with Lion Country Safari's Education Department, Aaron received his A.A. degree at San Diego State and his BA in Spanish at FAU. He is also a certified lifeguard. He says the best part of working at Lion Country Safari is "the interaction with people and animals." Aaron's favorite animal here is Gonzo the sloth. His most memorable moment was "getting a close-up look at the lion house."

Joe
Education - Joe
In his third year with Lion Country Safari's Education Department, Joe received his BS from the University of South Dakota in Biology. He says the best part of working at Lion Country Safari is "the interaction with the animals and the opportunity to educate the public about wildlife." Joe says that "it is difficult to choose a favorite animal because they are all special and unique in their own way." His most memorable moment was
"training Eddy (Double Yellow-Headed Amazon) to step-up onto a stick."
