Beware of scams implying association with Lion Country Safari
Lion Country Safari is aware of fraudulent Lion Country Safari checks being mailed to individuals. The accompanying letter asks the victims to participate in a “secret shopper” program, or alleges that the victim has won a lottery prize. Both scams ask the victims to call a phone number to arrange to transfer part of the proceeds to the scammers.
If you receive one of the letters please note the following:
The checks are fraudulent. They have not been authorized by Lion Country Safari.
The checks will not be honored by Lion Country Safari and will be returned.
Lion Country Safari has no affiliation with the scammers.
Lion Country Safari has reported the scam to law enforcement authorities.
Lion Country Safari does not offer prizes, awards, funds, certificates, scholarships or conduct lotteries through e-mail, mail or fax.
Lion Country Safari strongly recommends that the recipients of solicitations such as those described above exercise extreme caution in respect of such solicitations. Financial loss and identity theft could result from the transfer of money or personal information to those issuing such fraudulent correspondence. Victims of such scams may also report them to their local law enforcement authorities for appropriate action.
