A 7-1/2 month gestation period usually results in one offspring which is cared for by the mother, father, and sometimes older siblings.Facts: The siamang is the largest of the gibbons. Their enlarged throat sacs, used to amplify their loud vocalizations, can be as big as a human head. Mated pairs sing a “duet” to mark their territory and reinforce the pair bond.
