FAQ's

See below for answers to the most frequently asked questions.

What does the ticket price cover?

All Child and Regular tickets include unlimited trips through our 4-mile drive-through preserve (last vehicle admitted at 4:30PM) and admission into Safari World, our walk-through adventure park. Mechanical rides and water attractions are included in the admission costs. For guests looking to experience just the drive-through safari, special admission tickets are available at the ticket booths after 3:30pm. We are not offering additional discounts at this time. Open attractions may vary. Please check website and social media for updates.

Can we just purchase tickets at the gate?

Tickets should be purchased online for a speedy and contact-free admission process.  If you don’t see the date online that you are looking to visit, check back closer to that date.

Are Masks Required at Lion Country Safari?

Face masks are recommended outdoors. Masks are required indoors and in busy areas where indicated or where social distancing is not possible.

Lion Country Safari is continuing to follow the CDC guidelines, specifically in relation to COVID-19. The well-being of our guests, staff and animals will continue to be our foremost priority. We ask that all guests assist us by following all instructions for your visit to Lion Country Safari.

There is an inherent risk to COVID-19 exposure in any public location where people are present. By visiting Lion Country Safari, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. COVID-19 can lead to severe illness and death.

Do I need to pay admission for my infant or toddler?

Children 2 and under are free.

Do we need to print our tickets?

You do not need to print your Eventbrite tickets. We are able to scan them from your mobile device or look them up with the name they were purchased under. We do not need to touch your device for admission.

How is the park or my visit affected by rain?

We are open regular hours on rainy days and the animals tend to be more active in the rainy weather. During severe weather conditions, including lightning alerts, rides and some attractions will be closed until safe to reopen.

Do you offer annual memberships?

Lion Country Safari does offer individual annual memberships. You can receive unlimited visits to the park for a year, 20% off food purchases in the Café ROAR restaurant, 20% discount at our gift shops and 10% discount on our award-winning KOA campground daily rates. Annual Pass benefits may vary. For more information, click here.

When is the best time to see the animals?

The best time to see the animals is when it is raining. The animals generally love the cooler, wet weather and tend to be more active during this time. If you are not interested in visiting the park during the rain, then we recommend you arrive early any day. Early morning is the second-best time to visit as it tends to be a bit cooler and the animals are usually more active then.

Can I bring my own food?

Lion Country Safari welcomes you to bring your favorite foods and dine in our outdoor picnic area located just inside “Safari World” walk-through park. No barbecues, please.

Can I feed the animals?

Lion Country Safari offers animal feeding experiences in our walk-through park, Safari World, for nominal fees. These include Giraffe Feeding Encounter, Lory Bird Aviary, Fish Feeding, and Petting Zoo. These are the only animals which are available for public feeding, and only the foods purchased at the habitats are permitted for these animals, since all of our animals are on special diets. Please check website for any encounters / experiences that may be temporarily affected by COVID-19.

Do you have group rates?

We offer special rates for school, scout, tour and community or non-profit groups. Please visit the Groups Visits tab for more information.

Is Lion Country Safari handicap accessible?

Our facility is handicap accessible with some exceptions due to building constraints. In the drive-through section, you will be in your own vehicle, or in one of our rental vans (if you choose to rent). The walk-through area is either concrete walkways or boardwalks. There are no stairs. Access to our picnic area may involve going over a short grassy area. The petting zoo is served by paved walkways which are accessible by a person who uses/is using a wheelchair; however, there is a double gate system to keep the animals in, which would require some assistance to the person who uses/is using a wheelchair. The animals in the petting zoo sometimes get excited and raise their front legs up onto people.

Is there a hotel nearby?

Adjacent to Lion Country Safari is an award-winning KOA campground where you can wake to the sounds of roaring lions. For information, call (561) 793-9797 or (800) 562-9115 to make a reservation. If you’re looking for a more traditional overnight stay, there are quite a few hotels in the area. We recommend searching for hotels in or near West Palm Beach, FL.

How many animals do you have?

Lion Country Safari is home to over 1000 WILD animals and 90 species including lions, giraffe, zebras, rhinos, chimpanzees and much more.

How long does it take to tour the park?

We recommend about 4-6 hours to fully enjoy Lion Country Safari. Allow one and a half hours or longer on busy days to drive through the four-mile preserve and at least three and a half hours in the walk-through. You are welcome to drive through the safari more than once on the day of your visit.

Do I need to check in with a service animal?

Service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome. Please inform the ticket booth team member upon arrival so we may alert our wildlife team and walk-through staff of a service animal entering the park. While Emotional Support Animals or Comfort Animals are often used as part of a medical treatment plan as therapy animals, they are not considered service animals under the ADA. Service animals need to be under control as defined by the ADA.

Service animals may not enter interactive habitats including giraffe feeding encounter, lory feeding, budgies or petting zoo. These species view dogs as a predator and may become extremely distressed in the presence of a dog.

Can I take my dog with me in the car?

No, we do not allow pets into the park for the safety of all animals. We have free kennels (with a refundable $5.00 deposit) available for your use. Please stop in at the office before you go through the ticket booth. We do not know how your pet may react to our animals and how our animals may react to your pet.
